Hi I am using Android 4.0.3 too (seems to be a very popular version these days). I have tried on two different tablets, termina.setValue method doesn't work for me either. It's a real shame, as TouchOSC on Android doesn't provide that functionality either (and it does on Iphone).

Hey, Zambari. I'm having a similar problem.

I was using Android 2.2.1, on a 7' (slow) tablet. It could send OSC messages to PureData, and receive from it and from Blender.

To change a simple button (from PureData, MrPeach to Control):

send /voz $1

To change a slider, I use (from PureData, MrPeach to Control):

send /control/runScript volumen_mus.setValue($1)

To change a label (from Blender, pyOSC to Control):

client.send( OSCMessage('/control/runScript', 'terminal.setValue("text")') )

As you see, this doesn't work:

client.send( OSCMessage('/terminal', 'text') )

But... now, I'm using a Galaxy Tab2 with Android 4.0.3. NO MESSAGE ARRIVE TO THE TABLET. It can send anything, but I can't receive labels or button - slider changing.

What Android version are you using?

thanks for writing Control by the way.
shame this forum is polluted with spam and that there are no more frequent updates of the software.

I am writing to point out that Android version of Control has trouble parsing Osc messages with strings meant to update label text - i.e. /myLabel "myNewLabelValue" - I just spent a fair amount of work trying to get it to work before I checked on my iphone and it does work there no problems.

any suggestions? thanks

I would like some advice as I'm looking for an iPhone solution that could send accelerometer/gyroscope/compass/microphone data and also buffer/record everything when the network connection is not available.

Would that be possible with Control? I'm a programmer too, so I could complement existing code, given a few pointers.

Hi all,
Just getting to grips with the vastness of possibilities of using this app - it's incredible!

I have succesfully setup osc communication with my DAW reaper, however am struggling to get communication from reaper to the app.

Firstly, does the app even support parameter feedback? example - if i move a fader in my daw, can control's fader move to refelct the changes?

If so, and if there are any reaperites out there, i'd love a discussion about the howto's

I currently send a 'volSliderX 0000000' (where X is the slider number ie fader 16 would send volSlider16 000000)

reapers osc congif file has the following:
TRACK_VOLUME n/track/volume n/track/@/volume

I guess i need to edit the second/lowercase info to reflect my volSliderX syntax, but i can't solve it.

Can anyone shed any light?

When using this with 2 arguments it works but when I only try 1 nothing happens.

Also is it possible to build this dynamically? including the number of arguments? I tried building the whole argument as a string & got nothing.

Is it possible to send an OSC Message that is a string. I am sending to PD. I can pass a string If I make the sender in PD but when I send from Control all I get is "/Address 0"

I am basically trying to pass an array of values. They actually are all integers. So if there is a way to send an array of floats or anything else that would probably work too.

Hiya,
hopefully the title is explanatory:

I'm creating a surround sound controller, using buttons, sliders, and an xy multi.
I'm using maxmsp to convert the osc into midi.
I'm having trouble getting the 'x' to transmit one cc value, and the 'y' to transmit another.
Currently, I can only convert the first of the two messages through max.
Can anyone shed any light?
Can the multi xy be coded to send different OSC sets for 'x' and 'y' - not one, double length OSC message.
I hope I am making myself clear.

MIDI Device <-> Camera Connection Kit <-> Control App <-> Host <-> MAX/MSP

I wan't to create a Control Interface with some Buttons, XY Pad, Acc & Gyro.
The Buttons are controlling the midi device and the host application.

I'm using pyOSC inside Blender. This code receive and send OSC messages from and to PureData perfectly. Also, I can send OSC messages from Blender and PureData to Control and from Control to PureData. But...

When I try to send from Control to Blender (pyOSC), the messages never arrive. I have to receive them in PureData with MrPeach "udpreceive 10000" and conect directly to "udpsend" (above connected to Blender). Is, the same bytes that PureData receives are sent to pyOSC (inside PureData, I can "print" the bytes that receive or send and they are the same). This is the only way that pyOSC can receive messages.

I don't know how to help to fix this...
