    Hi Charlie,

I just saw the dynamic interface creation video and notice that you where using Max to push the creation messages via OSC. Is there any particular reason for this? I would figure that since you're developing an free and opensource product, you would opt for Pd. Not that I'm against Max, being both a Max and Pd user. But I'm curious about your particular opinion on the Pd vs Max debate.

    I like multiple undo... :)

I also like Jitter. But you're right, there's no reason for me to be using Max for that particular video. I probably should have used Pd and encouraged my fellow open-source projects. I'll try and be more conscious of it in the future.

In practice I've used and taught both...

yeah, pd would be much better, especially for those of us on a linux machine (aside from FOSS reasons). ;-)

Has anyone managed to create&modify interfaces via puredata? I hit a wall with Pd not handling/sending curly brackets {}.

So, am currently in the process of recreating my Pd patch in Max.

Haven't gotten around to trying this yet... I'll see if I can take a stab at it sometime soon. I'm guessing you tried escaping the curly brackets?

I couldn't try escaping them.. from what I read, Pd does not have an escape character as such.

I found on the Pd mailing lists this ..interesting.. comment by a Pd developer:
"I'm against adding a general escape mechanism, because I think it's better to find a design that obviate teh need for it..."
