    I've been using Control for a remote focus unit for controlling theatre lights and I've noticed that it crashes pretty consistently. As long as I keep it on the screen it's fine, but when I switch applications and then switch back to Control it usually crashes as soon as I press a button in the interface I designed.

    When it crashes I get dumped out to the iPhone's app selection screen and I can restart Control immediately but it has usually lost the destination from the list so I have to re-enter it, and then reselect the interface I was using. Once I do that it works fine, but if I switch apps again and then come back to Control it usually crashes again.

    It seems to be related to having Control in the background for a significant period of time and then switching back to it. This is typical of lighting focus where I want to turn a light on and then spend a while adjusting it before moving on to another light and also when I'm busy with other things mixed in with focusing.

    This leads me to a somewhat related question. Is there any way to code a destination into a interface? Or at the very least include a button on an interface that invokes Javascript to explicitly set a destination? I'm getting tired of having to keep going back to the Destinations screen to retype the address and reselect it. It would be nice if I could just go directly to the interface screen since I plan to always use this interface with the same destination.

    Sorry about the crashes. I'm going to be digging into both the iOS version and the Android version over the next few weeks to iron out some bugs.

    In the meantime, yes, you can hardcode destinations / ports into interfaces.

    destinationManager.selectIPAddressAndPort('127.0.0.1', 8080);

    Thanks, that'll be a big help in the short term. As long as I can immediately restart Control and get reconnected by just tapping the interface name in the list that's a lot better than having to select the destination screen re-enter the address and then select it and then switch back to the interfaces screen to reselect the interface.

    Other than the crashes I'm really happy with Control. It works much better as an RFU than the web interface I had previously written and used via Safari because it's much more interactive.
