{"id":1026,"date":"2015-06-18T02:01:13","date_gmt":"2015-06-18T02:01:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/charlie-roberts.com\/gibber\/?p=1026"},"modified":"2015-06-18T02:04:26","modified_gmt":"2015-06-18T02:04:26","slug":"extensive-use-of-gibber-in-first-us-algorave","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/charlie-roberts.com\/gibber\/extensive-use-of-gibber-in-first-us-algorave\/","title":{"rendered":"Extensive use of Gibber in first US Algorave"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On June 9th, an <a href=\"http:\/\/algorave.com\">Algorave<\/a> was held in Santa Barbara that primarily consisted of members of MAT 276IA, a class I taught on sound synthesis and algorithmic composition in the <a href=\"http:\/\/mat.ucsb.edu\">Media Arts &amp; Technology program at UCSB<\/a>. Everyone except for the guest headliner, <a href=\"http:\/\/chadmckinneyaudio.com\/\">Chad McKinney<\/a>, used Gibber in their performances. I was really happy with the performances and it was great to hear all the different types of music that came out; no two were alike.<\/p>\n<p>One other notable aspect of the concert was the use of a new system for ensemble performances that I&#8217;ve named <em>Gabber<\/em>. Gabber provides clock synchronization and a bunch of other neat features. I&#8217;ll be presenting it at <a href=\"http:\/\/iclc.livecodenetwork.org\/\">ICLC (International Conference on Live Coding)<\/a> in July.
