MemberOvbiously no.
Let me tell you that I didn’t go on trying using Control. Since it is for Android, I’m using TouchOSC. Unfortunately, it is not open-source… the only one that I use with that caracteristic.

MemberObviously no.
Now, that someone appear… I can tell you that I didn’t go on trying using Control. Since it is for Android, I’m using TouchOSC. Unfortunately, it is not open-source… the only software-app that is not open-source that I use.

MemberE-Fir… for the moment, you are the one who understand the code. We have to fix Control to work in ICS! Because I think that the problem isn’t in the conection type, because default interfaces do work, do receive messages. It’s about… something else.

MemberTo upgrade to Phonegap 2.4 or 2.5 (last), the code should have some changes… that I don’t know how to do it.
To know about the KEY, check: developer.android.com/tools/publishing/app-signing.html. I compiled to use in ICS, but it has bugs (charlie-roberts.com/Control/?topic=android-ics-doesnt-receive-all-osc-messages). So, I can’t use it.

MemberI have Android…
1.- I didn’t try it.
2.- Maybe in TO DO list?
3.- See this: http://charlie-roberts.com/Control/?topic=android-ics-doesnt-receive-all-osc-messagesYes, this program looks great and I want to use, but it needs a lot of fixes. And, for the moment, it’s the only Android professional OSC app.
I’m waiting for any updates too, as I don’t know programming.

MemberNeurogami: Control works ok for me in Android 2.x… but not in 4.x. There’s the problem….
Anyway, I downloaded your interface and I’ll take a look.
Mario Mey
MemberWell, I tried a different thing. I didn’t know about tcpsend atom… it’s just to send through TCP. But, it connects and, when I send something, it gets disconnect… or prints this:
tcpsend blocked 37 msec
And then… CONTROL STOPS. Yes, it closes itself. In master version or E-Fir modified version is the same, it stops.
Mario Mey
MemberE-Fir, I tried your modified version. The messages are sent from Control to PureData. But, Control doesn’t receive the messages. Supposedly, MrPeach OSC abstractions can manage OSC messages through UDP and TCP… but, using packOSC or packOSCstream (for TCP), it doesn’t work. Sometimes, it doesn’t do anything, sometimes, it gets disconnected.
Do you know another abstractions to send OSC messages through TCP?
Another thing… and I think this is real problem. The messages, through UDP (master version) arrives to Control and they work…. only on default interfaces (DJ, for example), but not in a personalized one. For this reason, I don’t think that the problem is in connection. Is a pity that Charlie didn’t appear any more. I miss him!
Maybe use a newer version of PhoneGap (Apache Cordoba)?
Mario Mey
MemberNeurogami, how did you hard restart the app?
E-Fir: I downloaded the apk, I’ll try it… what is the difference between TCP and UDP? Does it has any change using Control?
Mario Mey
MemberI have the same BIG problem: http://charlie-roberts.com/Control/?topic=android-ics-doesnt-receive-all-osc-messages
I’ve been using an old cheap Tablet with Android 2.1. It can send and receive OSC messages. Now, I’ve installed Control by GooglePlay in Android 4.0.3 (Galaxy Tab 2) and, with the same interface, it doen’t receive OSC messages. I can’t change any value.
The strange thing is that it receives using a default interface, like “DJ”. I can control the volume, for example.
From PureData, I tried sending the default “send /volume 0.5″ for example and “send /control/runScript volume.setValue(0.5)”, both with MrPeach-OSC. None of them worked.
I have an old cheap Tablet with Android 2.1 and a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, Android 4.0.3. The update is that not all the messages are lost. Some of them arrives…
Charlie told me that develop version should work… but it doesn’t. I have more issues with that version. For the moment… there’s no way to do what I want in my Android. TouchOSC editor doesn’t work in Android and its hack doesn’t allow labels, that they are very important for me.
Chalie, we need you!!!

MemberHey, man. I’m insterested. I’m woking on making a Control interface and Puredata patch to use with SooperLooper. I mailed you.
Then, we can post here our advances…
Mario Mey
MemberThanks for the update. Yes, now, it can load files… but, in my case, it loads some files, some other not.
Also, don’t know why, after updating the file to the new way, Control NEVER load my file.
And, there’s a moment when I try to load a file and it appear to be ok… but it load any default interface (DJ, for example). One day, I had to reinstall Control to stop doing that.
I’m trying the GooglePlay version… I realized that some OSC messages arrive to Android. But some others (mine) don’t. I’ continue this in another thread.
Thanks.
